Semi Finalists Small and Medium Conventional Bands

Pan Trinbago has released the names of the Semi finalists in the Small and Medium Conventional Bands categories.

Eighteen (18) Small and fifteen (15) Medium Bands will join the sixteen (16) Large bands for the National Semi Finals aka Savannah Party at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, on Sunday 05th February 2012, from 9:00 am.

The qualifying Bands in order of merit are:-

The above bands along the 16 Large Bands will draw for playing positions on Wednesday 1st February 2012, on CNMG,11a Maraval Road, Newtown.

National Panorama Single Pan Bands Preliminaries Finals

Five (5) points separated the first two (2) bands in the recently-concluded National Panorama Single Pan Bands Preliminaries.

Taking the top spot was Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra. The band from the West amassed 264 points for the Robert Tobitt arrangement of Amrit Samaroo’s composition “Band From Space”.

Placing second is the Trinidad & Tobago Fire Service Band with 259 points.  They played “Woman on the Bass” arranged by Terrence BJ Marcelle, composed by Irwin Reyes Johnson and sung by Scrunter.

Defending champion, San Juan East Side Symphony, placed seventh with 255 points. Their selection was Austin Lyons “Get Something and Wave” arranged by Duvonne Stewart Thirty two (32) bands qualified for the semi finals which take place on Saturday 11 February at the Larry Gomes Stadium Car Park, Malabar, Arima.  Show time is 6:00pm. Admission is $60.
