Tobago, National Single Pan Band Preliminaries

National Single Pan Band Preliminaries kicks off the pan competition in Tobago.

Five (5) bands have registered to compete in the friendly pan music rivalry on Friday 04 February 2010, at the Roxborough Complex, Roxborough, Tobago, from 7:00 pm.

Leading the charge is Pan Fanatics with the Gerard Balfour arrangement of Winsford Devine's "This Melody Sweet" sung by Baron (Timothy Watkins)

Selections include two from the 2011 music catalogue while the remaining three are perennial favourites.

The order of appearance of the bands and their Panorama tunes are listed below.

Conventional Bands (Small & Medium) will have their play off at the Garden Side Car Park, Scarborough, Tobago, on Friday 11th February 2011. Competition starts at 7:00 pm. Admission to this event is $50.

Large Bands like their Trinidad counterparts will be subjected to a count and adjudicators' comments while they perform. The date for the Preliminaries visit is Tuesday 15 February 2010 from 7:00 pm.

Single Pan Bands, National Panorama Northern Region Preliminaries

Order of appearance

Thirty (30) Single Pan Bands will participate in the National Panorama Northern Region Preliminaries produced by Pan Trinbago.

The event takes place at Victoria Square, Park Street, Port of Spain on Saturday 05th February 2011 from 7:00 pm. Admission is $40.

Based on the draw for playing positions which took place earlier at CNMG studios, D' Uuntouchables Pan Groove will start the program.

Eastern Region, National Panorama Single Pan Band Preliminaries

The Graduates will be the first band on stage on Friday evening when the Eastern Region of Pan Trinbago kicks of the National Panorama Single Pan Band Preliminaries at the Larry Gomes Stadium Car Park, Malabar, Arima, at 7:00pm.

The Graduates hailing from Aleong Street, Arima, has chosen Eddie Ayoung's "Nani Wine" as its selection.

Defending champions, La Horquetta Pan Groove, will perform at position eight (8). Their tune of choice is "Dead or Alive" composed and sung by Shurwayne Winchester.

Pan Down Memory Lane 2010 winner Marsicans has pulled number 15. They will be playing "Call Meh" composed by Mark Loquan/Ken Professor Philmore and sung by Destra.

Twenty (20) bands will be vying for places in the National Semi Finals which comes off later in the month.

Panorama Finals Order of Appearance Saturday 13 February 2010

Saturday's event will showcase 10 Medium and 10 Large Conventional Bands. Winner in this group will take home $1m. Patrons too will not come away empty-handed as three persons can each win an airline ticket to any North American destination courtesy Caribbean Airlines.

Showtime is 6:00 pm

National Panorama Semi finals

Seven (7) steel orchestras from Tobago are among the 45 bands in the bmobile National Panorama Semi finals carded for the Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain, on Sunday 21 January 2010, from 9:00 am.

They are Steel Xplosion, NLCB Buccooneers, Katzenjammers, West Side Symphony, Carib Dixieland, Our Boys and rbtt Redemption Sound Setters.

Steel Xplosion of Montgomery, Tobago, amassed the highest score in the Medium Conventional category with 270 points for their rendition of "Radica" arranged by Carlton "Zanda" Alexander.
