Midnight Robber Masterclass with Damian Whiskey

The Midnight Robber is one of the most recognizable traditional Carnival characters. Dark and mysterious, s/he is both loved and feared. In the spirit of the season, and with an enduring commitment to the preservation of our oral traditions, we're hosting a masterclass with the youngest veteran of the Midnight Robber art form, Mr Damian Whiskey.

This one-day intensive will cover four key areas of developing this character: history, writing, costuming & performance. Under the tutelage of Midnight Robber, Damian Whiskey, master the art of menacing diction and performance, learn the essentials of Robber costuming and the origins of one of T&T’s cherished indigenous traditions.

The programme will be broken up into morning and afternoon sessions: 10 am – 12 noon; 1 pm – 3 pm.
