NCC Launches Trinidad and Tobago Carnival World

Port of Spain, Trinidad: Sunday, February 14, 2021: The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) has officially launched its digital online platform, Trinidad and Tobago Carnival World – tntcarnivalworld.com

At a media launch held at the NCC's VIP Lounge, Queen's Park Savannah on Sunday, February 14, the NCC unveiled the online platform before an audience of stakeholders, sponsors, and members of the media, as well as online viewers via Zoom.

Presented as a digital entertainment ecosystem that is FREE to the public, Trinidad and Tobago World showcases many elements of Carnival's rich and diverse history, employing features such as an interactive online digital archive, live and pre-recorded streams, and access to partner services and products.

While many of the initial aspects of the platform were shown at the launch, the platform will continue to be populated with 100% local content, and will serve as both home and host to a broad spectrum of engaging, informative, and entertaining Carnival experiences, including Steel Pan Exhibitions, Kings and Queens, and Calypso Monarchs through the years.

There will also be a special exhibit centred on key women in the evolution and history of Trinbago Carnival.

Speaking at the launch, NCC Chairman, Winston "Gypsy" Peters, said, "TnTCarnivalWorld.com is part of our collective steps today to secure a future for Carnival that we all want to see. What's more, it forms part of a future that we can all share – safely, healthily, and responsibly."

"Our online platform, interactive digital archives, and Big Sunday Reflections are not meant to be a one-off event to entertain and dull the pain of missing Carnival 2021. They are part of the future building process that we are proud and privileged to lead and be a part of," Peters said.

He added, "Together with our sponsors, supporters, and advocates, this 2021, we are giving the people something that they can look at as they look back and as they look ahead. And in bringing something of value to the people, we always knew that we have to be responsible in whatever we produce," Peters said.

The NCC sincerely thanks all its stakeholders within the national community and within the Special Interest Groups, TTCBA, TUCO, and Pan Trinbago; and project sponsors, the Shanghai Construction Group, Digicel, Angostura Limited, National Petroleum Marketing, and Westshore Medical.

The NCC also thanks broadcast partner, TTT Limited for their support in sharing the content that is currently available on the platform.

Free and open to the public, NCC's Trinidad and Tobago Carnival World (tntcarnivalworld.com) is live now.

Live it. Love it. Share it.
