National Panorama Small Bands Finals Results 2018

It was “Trouble” literally when the results of the National Panorama Small Band Finals were announced last night Thursday at Skinner Park, San Fernando just after 11:30 pm

When the dust cleared, Golden Hands led by Franka Hills-Headley with a Vanessa Alexander Headley arrangement of her composition “Trouble Sans Humanite” emerged victorious with the top score of 279 points.

Finishing behind the San Fernando based band was Laventille Serenaders with 278 points for their performance of Winston Bailey’s “Dingolay” arranged by Arddin Herbert.

They tied with La Horquetta Pan Groove and “Magic Drum” arranged by Kion Robinson.

Fourteen (14) bands competed for the title and after almost eight hours of musical rivalry, the judges, Tommy Crichlow, Bernadette Roberts, Joslynne Sealey, Michele Diwrich, Rogelle Granger-Morton and Vorbin Cordice, handed down the results as follows:-

NCC Junior Kings and Queens of Carnival 2018 - Finals

Below are the confirmed results for the Junior Kings and Queens Final 2018.

As a result of a system error, one of the competitors in the Junior Kings segment of the Junior Kings and Queens Finals Competition 2018 was inadvertently omitted from the Finals Results list. As such, only ten (10) of the eleven (11) entitled competitors were named.

The NCC was notified of the error and immediately reviewed the results. A revised list showing all eleven (11) competitors was duly published.

The NCC strives to ensure accuracy and fairness in generating such results and apologises unreservedly for any distress this may have caused to the competitor, whose name was erroneously excluded, and further, to the other competitors whose placings had to be amended as a result.

National Junior Panorama Results 2018

St. Margaret’s Boys’, St. Francois Girls’ College and bp Renegades Youth Steel Orchestras regained their respective titles at the recently-concluded National Junior Panorama competition yesterday. The competition, the 43rd edition, was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Pan Trinbago on Sunday February 04 at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

While the competition was a joint venture, Pan Trinbago was responsible for the Elite Class, at the end of which saw bp Renegades Youth not only retaining their title but taking the lead with 285 points, 11 points more than the second placed Desperadoes Youth who scored 274 points, Third place went to Massy Trinidad All Stars Youth with 269 points.

During the competition, Mr. Roland “Moose” Joseph, music educator, performer, author and composer/arranger was presented with an Award for his contribution as a true patriot of the art form.
