Champs of Steel Plus 2016

“It’s Carnival Time Again” sang Bro. Marvin and that’s exactly what Pan Trinbago intends to achieve with the post carnival production “Champs of Steel Plus”.

The event gives citizenry and visitors another chance to relive the memories of the recently concluded Carnival celebrations in all its aspects.

Champs of Steel Plus featuring in part most of the winners and champions of the major competitions is held annually on the Saturday after Carnival. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 13th February 2016 at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.    Showtime time is 8:00pm. Tickets Grand Stand seating only is priced at $100.

Heading the cast are the eight (8) steelband champions in the various categories ie Desperadoes, Pan Elders, San Juan East Side Symphony and Marsicans, SuperNovas. Tacarigua Presbyterian School, St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph, and bp Renegades Youth Steel Orchestra.

Also on this year’s playbill are some of the finest exponents of mas, calypso and chutney on one stage providing a fitting end to the festival.  These include Senior and Junior Kings and Queens of Carnival, Junior Carnival Band of the Year winner as well as the “most outstanding mas presentation of 2K16.”

Some of the season’s hottest champs and contenders including the National Calypso Monarch Devon Seales, Junior Calypso Monarch Sharissa Camejo, Junior Soca/Chutney Soca Monarch Aaron Duncan, Ex Tempo’s Winston “Gypsy” Peters and Lingo, and Chutney Soca Kris “KI ”Persad,   Other components such International Soca, Young King, soca stars Farmer Nappy, 5Star Akiel  and calypsonian Spicy The Bush Monarch have been invited.

Kelly Green & Harmony will provide musical accompaniment.

Tickets…General Seating at the Grand Stand, priced at $100. are on sale at  Cleve’s Frederick Street, Port  of Spain, Crosby’s St. James, Pan Trinbago Head Office, Park Street, Port of Spain, and  Queen’s Park Savannah.
