NCC and TTPS Tour Carnival City In Preparation For “A Taste Of Carnival 2022”

Port of Spain, Trinidad: Wednesday, February 9 2022: The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) hosted several Senior Trinidad and Tobago Police Service officials as part of a guided tour of the Carnival City facilities, inclusive of the Grand Stand and newly remodelled North Park area, at the Queen's Park Savannah on February 4, 2022.

NCC Chairman, Winston "Gypsy" Peters and several members of the NCC's Board and Executive welcomed Commissioner of Police (Ag.), McDonald Jacob, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Administration, Joanne Archie, to the Savannah's facilities, giving the TTPS full briefing of the Commission's preparedness ahead of the "Taste of Carnival 2022" events line up.

As part of the visit, the TTPS and the NCC toured the facilities, and held talks on how they would continue to work together in looking after the health and safety of all Carnival City patrons and workers, for this year's "Taste of Carnival 2022".

The two teams also reviewed the Commission's policy on attendance figures for all events at Carnival City. As discussed, consistent with the Ministry of Health guidelines and physical distancing mandates, all Taste of Carnival 2022 events will operate at a maximum of 50% capacity, with the Grand Stand being outfitted to comfortably host 1200 patrons and the North Park, 1100 patrons.
