NCC WELCOMES NEW DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, DAVLIN THOMAS

Port of Spain, Trinidad, July 2, 2018: The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) welcomes the recent appointment of its newest Deputy Chairman, Davlin Thomas, following his acceptance of the instrument of appointment from the Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly on Friday, June 29.

Thomas, an inveterate cultural stalwart, brings to bear extensive knowledge as an artistic director, playwright, and songwriter. An active contributor to the theatrical community for many years, Thomas has previously served as Carifesta IX Artistic Director, has first-hand experience in Carnival production in Europe, and has served as a member on a number of NCC-based Carnival committees.  

In commenting on the recent appointment, NCC Chairman, Winston “Gypsy” Peters said, “We eagerly welcome Davlin to the Board and certainly look forward to benefitting from his substantial expertise in theatrical and technical production, as well as from his body of knowledge accumulated over the years as part of our cultural community.”
