Deja vu…Echoes of Carnival Coming comes to Carnival City for Dimanche Gras 2022

Port of Spain, Trinidad, February 21 2022: The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) invites the nation and the world to witness the spectacle that is “Déjà vu…Echoes of Carnival Coming,” this year’s Dimanche Gras Show, at Carnival City, Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday, February 27 at 7 pm.

Déjà vu” features a star-studded line up of performers, including Skinny Fabulous, Lyrikal, Swappi, Iwer George, Blaxx, Bunji Garlin, Nadia Batson, Raymond Ramnarine, Drupatee, Farmer Nappy, and Nishard M.

Sunday will also be the stage where the 10 Mas Kings and 10 Mas Queens, who qualified from Tuesday’s preliminary round of the First Citizens Senior Kings and Queens Competition, vie for top honours in the Finals.

The Calypso faithful will have much to savour from Sunday’s show, as 10 of this year’s best calypsonians, chosen from last Sunday’s A Clash of Tents Showdown at Naparima Bowl, San Fernando, will perform their winning selections.

This year’s Dimanche Gras Calypso performers are: Aaron Duncan, Ta’zyah O’Connor, Bevon St. Clair, Jeffrey Thomas (Prince Unique), Joanne Rowley (Tigress), Neville Brown (Bunny B), Errol Ballantyne (Bally), Winston Peters (Gypsy), Irwin Johnson (Scrunter) and Johnson King (Johnny King).

Also on the Déjà vu docket will be an Extempo Face-off between Kevan Calliste and Myron Bruce (Myron B).

Veteran multiple award-winning Producer and Artistic Director, Davlin Thomas will be at the helm of this year’s show, lending his signature style and creativity to Sunday’s big event.

This year’s Dimanche Gras show: “Déjà vu…Echoes of Carnival Coming” kicks off at 7 pm on Sunday, February 26 at Carnival City, Queen’s Park Savannah. Tickets are available for the Grand Stand – General ($200) and Reserved ($300) and for the North Park – 6-person pod ($1000) and 9-person pod ($1400).

Interested attendees can get tickets at the NCC’s Head Office, Corner of Gray Street and St. Clair Avenue, St. Clair, Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm. Tickets are also available online via ticketgateway.com.

The NCC wishes to remind the public that all venues at Carnival City are designated safe zones and, in accordance with national COVID-19 prevention protocols, all patrons are required to be fully vaccinated to attend the Dimanche Gras show.
