NCC and FLOW Partner for Regional Carnival 2016

Port of Spain, Trinidad, Tuesday, February 2, 2016: The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) proudly welcomes Flow as a sponsor of the NCC Regional Carnival 2016.

The announcement was made during a cheque handover ceremony at the NCC’s VIP Lounge at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, on Tuesday, February 2.

The sponsorship package will allow Flow to support a wide range of regional carnival committees including Arouca, Couva, Diego Martin, Downtown Port of Spain, La Brea, New Carapichaima, Princes Town, Rio Claro, San Juan and St. Joseph as they reinforce their support for local arts and culture.

NCC Regional Carnival Chairman, Lennox Toussaint said, “We are delighted to be able to welcome Flow as a sponsor of Regional Carnival; an integral part of the Carnival calendar. “Their support is a step in the right direction and marks a new stage in our combined histories when it comes to sustainable corporate investment in culture and the arts,” he added.

Flow Managing Director, Brian Collins said, “The relaunch of the Flow brand has given us a renewed focus and drive to support the people of the Caribbean, its culture and traditions and we are happy to be a part of Carnival 2016 and look forward to our future partnership with the  National Carnival Commission and thank them for bringing us on board.”

Comprised of 57 committees across Trinidad and Tobago, the NCC Regional Carnival carries the baton of traditional aspects of the festival by ensuring that there exists continuity, sustainability, historical tradition, and the maintenance of cultural identity and tapestry.

It prominently features many dimensions and competitive aspects, such as stick fighting competition, traditional characters festival, reenactment of the Camboulay riots, and the Dragon Festival.
