Tobago Calypso Monarch Competition 2023

Trinbago Unified Calypsonian’s Organisation (TUCO) in Collaboration with Tobago House of Assembly Proudly Present the Tobago Calypso Monarch Finals & Legends Legacy Concert.

On Thursday 19th October 2023, the draw for positions of the competitors who will be participating in the TUCO Tobago Calypso Monarch competition, was hosted at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex. Eleven talented finalists will take the stage to compete for the prestigious title of Tobago Calypso Monarch at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday 21st October, 2023 at the said Shaw Park Cultural Complex, where they will face off against the reigning champion, Nicole Thomas, who clinched the title in 2022.

The finalists, listed in the order of appearance, are as follows:

3. Roslyn Reid aka Roslyn-“The Season For Calypso”
4. Wendell Frederick aka Excite-“Stop Abusing the Children”
5. Giselle Fraser aka GG-“Going Down Fighting”
6. Caston Cupid-“Straight From the Heart”
7. Dillon Thomas aka Dilly Suede-“It Wasn’t Me”
8. Nicole Thomas-“The Truth Is”
9. Dalanie Baynes-“Don’t Spoil the Good Vibes”
10. Alex Gift aka Tobago Chalkie-“The Feud”
11. Collin McMillan aka Mackie-“Find Your Purpose”
12. Ayesha Nicholls-“Bring Back the Sweetness”

The winner of the Tobago Calypso Monarch Competition 2023 will earn a coveted spot in the upcoming National Calypso Monarch Finals in Trinidad in 2024, a testament to the caliber of talent on display in this event.

In addition to the fierce competition, the Legends Legacy Concert will feature special performances by some of Trinidad and Tobago's most celebrated artists, including Kernal Roberts, Sekon Sta, Kevan Calliste, Sharlan Bailey, and Isaac Blackman.
